And, of course, those first miraculous moments when you finally meet your baby.

Many of my clients cry when they view their images for the first time. There is something so powerful about reliving your birth experience. Like a wedding, a birth is a day you'll remember for the rest of your life. Having professional birth photographs can help give those memories more shape and power.

A JustBorn session is just like a birth session, you just call me after your baby is born to capture those first memories that will last a lifetime.

The reason I put these chose to combine these questions is a Fresh48 and SilingVisit session are very much the same in that they are both documenting moments from the first 48 hours after birth, pictures of the new baby, room details, and the family. The main difference is older siblings, during the SiblingVisit the main focus is capturing those first moments of the siblings bonding.

Your Newborn session will be unique to your family's legacy by being in your favorite location, your home. This is a lifestyle session. Whether you choose to snuggle on your couch or your bed or show off your baby in their nursery, it will be a comfortable and special session just for you. Capturing the memories you want to last forever.

I'm Sioux City based in IA and yes I love to travel! If you want me to photograph your story, it will require a travel fee, depending on where it takes place. But no worries, it's a flat $75 rate no matter how many times I drive to your home or birth locations. I won't charge you per trip. I want to be there to tell the stories of those who want them most.

With your permission I will post 3-5 of my favorite images as a sneak peek within 48 hours of your baby's birth. You will receive ALL your images (the amount will depend on the package you purchase, although I tend to under promise and over deliver a bit.) an online gallery link within maximum 4 weeks (sometimes less depending on the season I photograph your story). You can share all the photos from the gallery, choose your favorites to download, and also order prints or extra downloads for printing however you would like. I can send a print package brochure on request so you can plan ahead.

First, no full nudity, it is not my style. You may see a thigh or bra, but I prefer to keep my site pretty modest. Second, I respect your privacy. You will be the First to see your gallery and it will not go public until you have marked images private that you don't want uncle Joe to see, with the exception of your sneak peek, but I PROMISE those moments will not include nudity, it's not my style. Third, the images I choose for your gallery are there if they tell your story, I will choose the best and more significant photos to tell your story, that means if there are two images that tell the same story, but one is less modest I will choose the one that tells the story and you can be PROUD to show uncle Joe.
Also, you can choose to purchase a locked gallery that will only appear as a cover image with a title and date on my work page, but be password protected and therefore ONLY visible to those with the password.
Note: if you want images that will include nudity, like crowning shots or skin to skin moments, please let me know ahead of time. I want to capture ALL your most important moments, so it is important for me to know them in advance. Unfortunately, I can not go back in time and capture images I didn't know were important.

I photograph births throughout Siouxland and I've never had an issue photographing at any hospital, or homebirth practice. Most hospitals in the Sioux City area have no policy about no photography during c-sections, but I have not had the opportunity to photograph one in the area.

Birth can be unpredictable! I make every effort to arrive with enough time to capture your full story (and I have a stellar track record of making even the fastest of births). But in the unlikely event I do miss your birth, I still aim to tell your story. I'll stay as long as we need to get the same amount of images you would have received if you had, had a longer labor (and I’ll even come back the next day if we need more images).

I LOVE sharing stories. However, I absolutely respect families that wish to keep their images private. I offer several opportunities to keep images you choose private, through conversations, your model release, and again when you proof your images. I will always honor your requests for privacy.

I book up to 3 births a month. I have found at this time 3 is my limit to continue to produce the quality of images I expect of myself.
